At Select Breeders in Maryland we have two new staff members we’d like to introduce you to. At the front desk welcoming visitors and answering the phone you will meet Pat Blailock our new Office and Sales Manager. Pat (photo below right) joined the SBS team in February 2012 and has over 18 years of experience in business operations, office management and customer service. Her focus is to ensure that every customer, current or prospective, is informed of the services we provide at SBS and that they receive the highest quality of customer service. Be sure to introduce yourself to Pat next time you call. Our previous office manager, Tiffany Bragdell, left us in December to pursue a full time career as a professional rider at Trevalyan Farm, Lancaster, PA; we wish her all the best and have no doubt that she will be successful, she’s a fabulous rider and trainer.
Sydney Larsen, our frozen semen storage and distribution technician, ran off to join the circus - literally! She took a position as a vet tech travelling with Ringling Brothers. In addition to horses, Sydney is now working with elephants and big cats - what a great experience! To replace Sydney we hired Rosella Saville in December 2011. Rosella (photo below left) is a graduate of California State University, Fresno with a B.S. in Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary Medicine. Rosella moved east from California in 2005 to campaign her event horses and has since made Maryland her year-round home. We welcome Pat and Rosella to the SBS team!
After a wonderfully mild winter spring arrived early and breeding season is underway. We look forward to partnering with all our clients to make their breeding dreams a reality. In addition to our core services of semen freezing, storage and distribution, we also offer phantom training, semen collection and evaluation, cooled semen services - you can either trailer your stallion in for collection or we can stand him here for the season. In addition, we are offering mare management, from breeding your mare with cooled or frozen semen to performing embryo transfer services. We are excited to expand our services and take advantage of our new state of the art facility.
Having been here over a year now we have settled in well to the new building and almost done with all the finishing touches. After seeding the majority of our pasture space last year, we just installed fencing for the remaining paddocks last week. We now have seven turnout paddocks available for visiting horses. If you haven’t been to visit us at the new facility you really should come for the tour - we’d love to show you around! In the meantime you can see current photos on our Facebook page.
We wish you a successful breeding season in 2012!
