Rood and Riddle_LeBlanc Reproduction Center Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital began as an ambulatory practice in Lexington, Kentucky in 1982 and established a full-service equine hospital in 1986. Today the practice is known and respected throughout the world for their innovative and highly skilled treatment of horses. Rood & Riddle employs over fifty veterinarians with three board certified theriogenologists staffing our LeBlanc Reproduction Center (photo left). Our reproductive center was established in 2002 and was named in honor of our beloved colleague, Dr. Michelle LeBlanc, who was a widely respected practitioner, professor, mentor, leader, and cherished friend whose legacy lives on in our reproductive team.

Our team of veterinarians and talented staff has honed their skills while becoming leaders in advanced reproductive techniques. We offer complete stallion care and can provide comprehensive semen freezing services, as well as international distribution of frozen semen. With the support of our specialists in internal medicine, surgery, podiatry, sports medicine, and dentistry, we are able to offer the highest level of care to stallions of all disciplines and ages.

The LeBlanc Reproduction Center allows us to offer the most advanced reproduction medicine through state of the art equipment and a veterinary staff who have become leaders in the fields of mare and stallion care. Since construction in June 2002, our reproduction facilities have expanded to include a 200-acre reproduction facility located 10 minutes from the main campus. During the breeding season, this facility is home to over 200 recipient mares, 60 client mares and several stallions undergoing quarantine for collecting and exporting semen overseas.

Currently, Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital has three staff theriogenologists: Drs. Etta Bradecamp, Maria Schnobrich and Charlie Scoggin. One of our medicine clinicians, Dr. Peter Morressey, is also a board-certified theriogenologist, while one of the founding partners, Dr. Tom Riddle, was recently named an honorary member of the American College of Theriogenologists. Finally, we are pleased to welcome Dr. Stephanie Walbornn, Board Certified Theriogenologist, to our practice in the Summer of 2017. She will be based at our facility in Wellington, Florida. Over the past five years, our clinic has expanded its reproductive services to include nearly every aspect of equine reproduction. We have done so to keep pace with the demands of the industry and our clients. Cryopreservation of equine semen is one area that has grown steadily during this time, and we believe that our affiliation with Select Breeders Services (SBS) will further bolster our stallion services. We are proud to announce our affiliation with SBS beginning in January of 2017. With our dedication to the highest standards of care and service along with the industry leading reputation of SBS, it is a partnership that will enable us to ensure our clients achieve their goals.
