Overview

Festrausch's sire, Florestan I, is one of the leading producers of dressage currently in Germany and is considered by many to be the top Westfalen sire of the past twenty years. He was the Champion of his stallion licensing and also won his stallion performance testing.  Florestan has 50 approved sons, many States Premium mares, top auction selling offspring, and ultimately many very successful offspring in dressage.  International standouts Fidermark, French Kiss, Florencio, and Floriano are all Florestan I sons.

Festrausch's dam is the Westphalian mare Candy Girl by the Holsteiner stallion Carprilli. Carprilli, a son of Calypso I, has been a very important jumper sire.  Among his noteable offspring are Campari M and Certus.  Carprilli has also sired many States Premium Mares.  Wappenschild adds in foundation Hanoverian bloodlines to this pedigree, including two crosses to Fling.

Performance

Festrausch is a truly gifted individual with movement that is defined by suppleness, swing, articulation, and expression.  Shown early in his career in materiale and FEI Young Horse classes, Festrausch earned high scores against his peers – including a win over Olympic Champion Salinero when they were both 5 years old.  In that same year, Festrausch finished fourth at the FEI World Championships for Young Horses under Dr. Ulf Moeller.   Festrausch qualified again as a six-year old for the World Young Horse Championships with high scores in his qualifying competitions.  His training continued into the FEI levels and his natural talent made even the demanding work appear easy.

Offspring

The offspring of Festrausch show his same top-quality movement and uphill balance.  Numerous Premium awards have been given to his youngsters from a variety of mares. The talented Festrausch son Froelich (Festrausch – Landadel) has been a standout in the FEI Young Horses classes, multiple USDF Year-End award winner, and has moved quickly up the levels to now be winning at Fourth Level.  Froelich’s temperament is exceptional and allows him to be competed by both a professional and his amateur owner.  BW-Forte and Friedensfest are continuing to make their mark in the show ring as well and Dogwood Farm’s Freedomhall (Festrausch – Don Primaire) passed his Stallion Test with scores of 8 or higher for his interior qualities, walk, and canter in 2008.
